This is the first time any UK university has topped the list of the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, for its ongoing work towards a sustainable future and its impactful research. The Manchester university has achieved this ranking because of the collective efforts taken by the students and staff towards a green and sustainable future.
A total of 1,240 universities from 98 countries/regions had applied this year. The Times Higher Education analysed their commitment, focus and actions on sustainable development of different universities across the globe
Manchester University’s President and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell said: “We’re absolutely delighted to top the world in the Times Higher Education University Impact Rankings in 2021, but more importantly we’re pleased to be part of a growing community of universities committed to measuring and sharing their societal impact.”
