The Summer Intensive Modern Foreign Language courses are designed to improve the language skills and cultural awareness of the students and are ideal for students who aim for personal and professional development, preparing to go abroad or have an interest in languages and culture.
The course duration is of two weeks commencing from July 5. Classes are taught by experienced native-speaking academic staff in the UCL of Education on weekday mornings from 9:00 until 13:00, including a 30-minute break.
This course offers to study one of eight languages, and are as following:
Arabic – beginner
British Sign Language (BSL) – beginner
French – beginner and intermediate
German – beginner
Italian – beginner
Japanese – beginner and intermediate
Mandarin – beginner and intermediate
Spanish – beginner and intermediate
Fees:
£400 for UCL students
£500 alumni and UCL staff
£700 external applicants
On successful completion of this course, participants will be able to converse reasonably fluently with native speakers, develop their cultural awareness and language learning skills. Apart from that, some transferable skills will also be covered.
